We are looking to hire a Technical Training Lead at 1421 Dixie St, Amarillo, TX  USA. Your mission will be to collaboratively implement and execute the technical training program locally at the laboratory level, and contribute to continuous program improvement. The TTL supports and creates a learning environment for Merieux employees to achieve excellence, accountability, integrity, and initiative in their work.

Responsibilities
  • Training Needs Analysis – Collaborate with laboratory management to identify local technical training needs and train the trainer needs.
  • Training Delivery And Facilitation – Facilitate training programs using a blended approach; manage successful delivery of projects using internal and external resources; streamline and improve local learning experiences; facilitate orientation with New Hires in cooperation with Orientation Coordinator and Supervisor; schedule and facilitate annual training requirements with lab management; coordinate training activities across departments (including annual reverifications); oversee training plans and documentation;

    conduct method or other functional training and sign-offs as determined per lab by LD/GM, TTL and TTM; provide training portions of step rates; partner with management on training needs; sign off on documentation; conduct non-specialized training.
  • Learning Administration – Create and maintain learning events, activities, and evaluations for technical training; approve local technical trainers; maintain local training documentation and schedules; support onboarding with the new employee’s Supervisor and Buddy.
  • Reporting And Evaluation – Use reporting and evaluation methods to determine effectiveness and impact of the training program at local level; provide input and feedback to Technical Training leadership.
  • Other – Perform other related tasks as needed.
Your Profile Communication
  • Communicate training initiatives and objectives tactfully to laboratory leaders and trainers; collaborate with operational priorities to keep training lean and minimize impact on operational efficiency; work with the network of TTLs through regular meetings and with technical and quality groups to continuously improve the program. Ideally, meet with the local management team at least once per month.
Success Factors / Job Competencies
  • Analytical skills;
  • Physical dexterity with pipetting to transfer samples;
  • Laboratory skills obtained as a laboratory technician or similar position;
  • Oral and written communication skills to train personnel;
  • Data entry skills to calculate and record results.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Laboratory setting with appropriate safety equipment; occasional exposure to fumes and chemicals; autoclave-related heat; ability to lift 10–20 pounds daily (and up to 25 pounds periodically); standing for extended periods; occasional travel to laboratories and off-site locations; ability to perceive color variations; overtime may be required, aligned with laboratory OT percentage.
Qualifications
  • Required:

    Associates degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Preferred: 2–5 years of relevant work experience; general knowledge of food science to perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results; broad knowledge of laboratory safety procedures; familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

  • Compensation Range: $24–$25 hourly USD.
