RN – Trauma Analyst
ResponsibilitiesNorthwest Texas Healthcare System is a 495‑bed system serving Amarillo and the surrounding region.
The primary role of the Trauma Registrar‑RN is medical record data extrapolation and maintenance of the trauma registry.
Key duties include:
- Data entry and database maintenance to support performance‑improvement activities.
- Assisting with information requests, quality‑improvement studies, and research projects.
- Applying independent judgment within agreed limits.
- Collaborating with the Trauma Program Director/Manager and interprofessional team to improve patient outcomes.
- Facilitating staff education on trauma care and maintaining confidentiality and data security.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

- RN currently licensed by the State of Texas
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical and trauma terminology, statistics, and fundamentals of medicine and medical law for data analysis.
- Completion of TNCC and ENPC courses within 12 months of hire, each required to be taken twice without lapse in expiration.
- Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft applications, and presentations.
- Completion of injury scaling course (AAAM/AIS Injury Scaling or equivalent) approved by Texas DSHS within 12 months of employment.
- Completion of Trauma and Acute Care Foundation (TETAF) Hospital Data Management Course within 12 months.
- Completion of ICD‑10 Trauma Injury Coding Course within 12 months.
