• Perform all respiratory care procedures in general and critical care settings.
• Provide shift‑by‑shift clinical leadership for advancement of professional respiratory practice to staff in various clinical settings, including general, critical, and pediatric care.
• Demonstrate a high degree of independence and assist with ongoing development and evaluation of orientation needs, in‑service education, and continuing education.
• Apply innovative teaching strategies and methodologies to deliver cost‑effective and well‑executed clinical education utilizing a wide variety of methods, and provide support to clinical learning through mentorship, clinical rounds, and practice evaluation.
• Function as a “Charge Therapist” with responsibility for ensuring an adequate number of respiratory therapy staff to cover patient care areas and needs.
• Assign respiratory therapy staff to work areas and/or work assignments, modify work assignments, assist with meal coverage, field calls for unexpected absences, and coordinate adequate staffing levels for the next shift.

Job Requirements:

• High School (or GED equivalent) diploma
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
• Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) verified through NBRC
