- BSA Hospital is a 445‑bed hospital serving the Amarillo area for over 120 years and continues to be Amarillo’s preferred healthcare provider. At BSA, the focus is to provide quality healthcare in Christian love, service and dignity.
- Perform all respiratory care procedures in general and critical care settings.
- Provide shift‑by‑shift clinical leadership for advancement of professional respiratory practice to staff in various clinical settings, including general, critical, and pediatric care.
- Demonstrate a high degree of independence and assist with ongoing development and evaluation of orientation needs, in‑service education, and continuing education.
- Apply innovative teaching strategies and methodologies to deliver cost‑effective and well‑executed clinical education utilizing a wide variety of methods, and provide support to clinical learning through mentorship, clinical rounds, and practice evaluation.
- Function as a “Charge Therapist” with responsibility for ensuring an adequate number of respiratory therapy staff to cover patient care areas and needs.
- Assign respiratory therapy staff to work areas and/or work assignments, modify work assignments, assist with meal coverage, field calls for unexpected absences, and coordinate adequate staffing levels for the next shift.
Job Requirements:
- High School (or GED equivalent) diploma
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Licensed by the Texas Medical Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP)
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) verified through NBRC
