What You’ll DoAs a High Explosives (HE) Manufacturing Engineer, the candidate will be the Subject Matter Expert on HE component manufacturing processes. This individual will be part of a team responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving processes and procedures for the manufacturing of HE components and the associated surveillance and gauging of HE components. The individual will serve as a liaison between the Design Agencies and Pantex for the development of processes and components, and will also work with technicians and programmers in the work areas to incorporate their input into the process.
Additionally, this position may have a role in the installation of additive manufacturing equipment and the development of associated processes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering/science discipline with a minimum 2 years of relevant experience (Typical engineering/science experience ranging from 3 to 7 years).
- OR Master’s Degree in an engineering/science discipline.
- OR PhD in an engineering/science discipline.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related field from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program in the United States or designated equivalents thru ABET Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRA).
- OR a Bachelor’s Degree in science.
- A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) is preferred for up to four years post‑graduation, confirmed by transcript at the time of offer. Beyond four years from graduation, relevant experience will supersede GPA in hiring considerations.
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA.
- Master’s Degree with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA.
- PhD with a minimum 3.5/4.0 cumulative GPA.
- The ability to understand high explosive manufacturing processes to support new production and surveillance activities.
- Knowledge of procedure writing and a general understanding of the Unreviewed Safety Question (USQ) Process.
- Experience working with the Design Agencies and familiarity with common documentation requirements with the Design Agencies.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience with typical engineering/science experience ranging from 3 to 7 years.
