Overview

CEIS is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to support a hyperscale data center project in Amarillo, TX. This onsite role will provide technical leadership, electrical design oversight, and field support for mission-critical infrastructure systems. The selected candidate will collaborate across disciplines, support construction and commissioning activities, and serve as a Responsible Engineer (RE) or Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and review electrical system design packages for data center and mission-critical facilities
  • Prepare design studies, engineering scopes, cost estimates, and procurement specifications
  • Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering and construction teams
  • Serve as Responsible Engineer (RE) or Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE)
  • Support project schedule, budget, and technical deliverables
  • Provide onsite field oversight, installation support, system checkout, and startup assistance
  • Review third-party testing and commissioning reports
  • Conduct periodic field inspections of electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and client requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Minimum 6+ years of electrical engineering design experience (data center or mission-critical experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, codes, and standards
  • Experience with data center MEP systems
  • Ability to lead multi-discipline engineering efforts
  • Willingness to work onsite and perform field walkdowns (climb ladders/stairs as required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Prior hyperscale data center construction or commissioning experience
  • Experience serving as Responsible Engineer on complex projects
