PRIMARY

PURPOSE:

Coordinate all state assessments (interim assessments, TELPAS, EOC (End of Course) and other assessments as developed), PSAT, PLAN, AP, TSIA, and other assessment required by the campus, state, or federal government. Train appropriate campus personnel on testing rules and requirements, ensure each student receives the correct test with the required accommodations, collect, organize and return all testing materials to the District Testing Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas teacher certificate- preferred

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

  • Work effectively and harmoniously with students and school personnel
  • Follow written and/or oral directions and exercise good judgment
  • Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Publisher and Excel
  • Understand the rules and guidelines for secure testing
  • Understand the different types of tests students take at different grade levels in high school
  • Work independently as well as in a team setting
  • Prioritize and complete tasks by deadlines with frequent interruptions
  • Proficient skills in typing, word processing, data entry, scanning and file maintenance
  • Work under pressure while being flexible
  • Ability to problem solve

Minimum Experience:

  • Experience as a classroom teacher- preferred
  • Knowledge of state assessments- preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Serve as the Campus Testing Coordinator and coordinates the planning and administration of the statewide assessment programs (TELPAS, EOC, Retests and other assessments as developed).
  • Serve as the Testing Site Coordinator for SAT and PSAT.
  • Deliver trainings and provides technical support related to testing requirements for campus staff including test administrators.
  • Work cooperatively with campus leadership to develop plans and logistics of all aspects of campus assessment programs.
  • Supervise the logistics of paper and online testing, including the processing, packing, and delivery of test materials.
  • Work with counseling staff to identify test takers.
  • Work with Special Education staff to Identify students with ARD accommodations and modifications.
  • Work with ESL staff to identify students eligible for LEP postponement and students required to take TELPAS.
  • Use and train campus staff on varied testing platforms such as ETS, Pearson, and Test Hound.
  • Establish a procedure for monitoring student coding throughout the year in assessment coordination software.
  • Train campus staff on testing procedures and security.
  • Responsible for maintaining test security and confidential integrity of state assessments at all times.
  • In cooperation with campus administration, designate test administrators and testing rooms for testing and related assignments.
  • Order tests in compliance with the specific test deadlines.
  • Stay current in testing procedures and requirements by attending all district trainings.
  • Attend regular meetings with District Testing Coordinator.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in the area of instructional technology.
