Primary
Purpose:
Under general supervision maintain, repair and install electrical systems, services and equipment for the district. Maintain and provide for safe condition and operation of all electrical fixtures and systems in district facilities.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas Driver's License (with less than 10 points on record):
To be eligible to drive an Alvin ISD school district vehicle, an employee must meet the guidelines set forth in Transportation Code 521.002. Any employee or applicant who exceeds the maximum points within the designated timeperiods may not be authorized to drive a school district vehicle. (Points are assessed to moving traffic violation convictions and are governed by the Texas Transportation Code, Chapter 708, established by
Texas Department of Public Safety.)
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Must be able to pass drug test and background check
Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors and motor controllers
Knowledge of local electrical codes
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
Ability to use hand and power tools
Experience:
Five years in a related field
Salary:
Auxiliary PG7/261 days
Starting: $47,840
