ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor with ensuring building services such as general maintenance, utility systems including heating and cooling, water, steam, compressed air, electricity, are kept in good repair and operational as to limit critical disruptions to the business.
- Follow preventative maintenance schedules to applicable equipment to ensure minimal disruption and assist with coordinating repairs in a safe & timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders & contractors when systems are brought offline due to system upgrades, routine maintenance, and emergency repairs of the system.
- Respond to maintenance requests.
- Verify facility fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, and security systems are operational and follow maintenance/inspection schedules as required.
- Monitor the facility security services including personnel, building access systems, fencing/gates for potential threats and or vulnerabilities.
- Emergency contact for responding to building alarms during and after work hours (Alvin location).
- Provide support to external locations as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Comply with all local, city, state and federal requirements when complying with safety.
- Work with Maintenance Supervisor to perform inspections of facility to ensure safe operations and that potentially hazardous equipment and chemicals are identified and properly labeled.
- Monitor for leaks and spills of equipment and chemicals around the facility and alert the Maintenance Supervisor of any findings.
- Ensure familiarity with SDS for chemicals used in maintenance and building services and assist with proper disposal of such chemicals in accordance with required guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be at least 21 or older and possess and maintain a valid Driver License.
- Experience with computers and MS Office.
- Experience with ensuring tasks and contractor projects are completed safely and on time.
- Must be able to travel within the United States and its Territories via car, truck, airplane.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed for special circumstances.
- 5 or more years of experience (preferred not required) in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair and any of the following: general construction, electrical systems, HVAC, or plumbing systems.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience or certifications in general construction, electrical systems, HVAC, or plumbing systems is preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Expected to perform the essential functions, responsibilities, and physical requirements of this role with or without reasonable accommodation within the described work environment.
- Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking level and unleveled surfaces for periodic periods throughout the day including flooded rice fields. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. Must be able to lift 50-pound bag of seed. - Work and training locations may include office and warehouse environments. May also include dry, muddy, or flooded fields, and other outside environmental situations including extreme heat/cold, rainy, or sunny conditions.
