Job Summary

Responsible for customer sales of medical equipment, supplies, uniforms, and other merchandise provided by Home Health Products. Responsible for stocking, pricing, arranging, and maintaining the uniforms and accessories in the showroom. Distributes mail. Processes uniform special orders.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets the public by phone and in person. Represents Home Health Products within the retail arena in a courteous, professional, and caring manner.
  • Markets and sells cash DME products and clothing. Assists customers in obtaining additional uniforms, home medical equipment, and other merchandise as needed.
  • Responsible for requesting, tracking, notifying customers, and insurance coverage of merchandise. Verifies insurance coverage as applicable.
  • Accurately prepares and follows up on special order forms as appropriate.
  • Prepares order intake in the front of the store for payroll deduction, insurance transactions, and private pay.
  • Completes delivery/pick up tickets, plan of care documents and other documentation required by company policy, state and federal law, and accreditation agencies.
  • Delivers equipment in the storefront. Conducts patient education as part of delivery process. Obtains necessary patient signatures on delivery documents as applicable.
  • Assists in opening and closing the cash registers each day as needed.
  • Recommends new markets, and researches and acquires new technologies and products for the DME side of the company.
  • Receives money and credit card charges and records receipts accurately.
  • Accurately prepares daily bank deposit.
  • Identifies clearance merchandise and reduces pricing on monthly basis as needed.
  • Looks for new retail product lines to offer in the store.
  • Responsible for taking and delivering special orders for uniforms. Notifies customers of status of orders.
  • Stocks showroom with fresh merchandise. Responsible for obtaining new products for the DME side of the store.
  • Verifies coverage and collects patient responsibilities portion for all DME transactions.
  • Works with the teaching staff at WOSC and the Technology Center in selecting and stocking uniforms for nursing, health occupations, and cosmetology students.
  • Responsible for window displays in showroom. Displays merchandise in an appealing manner. Changes displays frequently to promote consumer interest.
  • Works with the Director and Assistant Director in arranging advertising and sales promotions for showroom merchandise.
  • Properly and timely fits patients with braces as required by the physician's order.
  • Back up to stock the brace closets.
  • Opens and sorts incoming mail.
  • Recommends new markets, and researches and acquires new technologies and products for the retail side of the company.
  • Backup to all Customer Service Rep-1 duties.
  • Manages social media, sales promotions, marketing and events in storefront.
  • Manages special order bins on a regular basis.
  • Responsible for portable oxygen concentrator rental processes.
  • CPAP Resupply & Setups as needed
Additional Competencies
  • Performs miscellaneous duties according to staffing needs as requested by management.
  • Participates in the semi-annual physical inventory.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the showroom. Shares responsibility for cleanliness of common areas.
Requirements Professional Requirements
  • Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean.
  • Courteous to patients, caregivers, referral sources, fellow staff members and company management.
  • Completes annual education requirements.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements such as state and federal regulations, company policy, and HQAA standards.
  • Wears identification while on duty.
  • Attends annual Hospital and Department in-services as scheduled.

  • Ensures confidentiality of patient records.

  • Arrives on duty punctually, as scheduled, ready to begin and complete assigned tasks. Limited absences with timely notification of any illness or absence.
  • Works in a spirit of genuine harmony with fellow workers. Works well with supervisor and supports his/her directives. Strives to maintain a good rapport and appropriate interdepartmental relationship with other hospital departments
Education/Regulatory Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Two years previous experience in a commercial retail business required.
  • Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.
  • Ability to deal with the public in a courteous manner. Must meet public and work well with elderly.
  • Qualified individual will be given on-the-job training.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Additional languages preferred.
