This is a hands‑on role combining Scrum team member, technical leadership, people management and coaching a team of developers. As a key member of a Scrum team you will define, build and deploy new products and features that meet the needs of our expanding customer base. You’ll work on meaningful projects and see the impact of your work in a dynamic, encouraging environment.

Though all roles are hybrid we have a great workspace in Altrincham that promotes collaboration and facilitates hybrid working with great tech, AV equipment and flexible spaces.

You will be a strong and experienced Java developer, but we’re not just looking for great coders. We’re looking for problem solvers who are keen to share ideas, challenge our approach and continuously improve the way we work. As a proactive and inquisitive developer, you’ll be passionate about collaborating with and contributing to the professional growth of your team. You’ll also be comfortable working with other specialists such as UX Designers, product experts, Test Analysts and, of course, our customers.

You’ll be working on a modern JDK (we currently use Amazon Corretto 17) and with a variety of approaches such as pair programming, automated testing and continuous integration – all backed by Dev Ops technologies such as Chef, Vagrant, Kubernetes, Terraform, Packer and Docker (though we don’t expect you to be expert in all of these). Our culture encourages continuous improvement, so we’ll be looking to you to investigate new tech, frameworks and processes to help drive us forward.

As a Principal Developer you will be responsible for the growth of developers (e.g., regular 1-to-1 coaching sessions and objective setting), be a strong contributor to technological and business advancement, and encourage/support developer participation in community forums and sessions. You also help in growing our teams further through our recruitment campaigns and promotion process.
