Cover Supervisor

We're looking for Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Altrincham. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates or anyone looking to get into the education sector. A background in working with children, for example, in a sports coaching, youth work, foster care or voluntary capacity, coupled with a strong can‑do attitude is desirable for this role.

Cover Supervisors supervise whole classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring lessons run smoothly, by delivering pre‑prepared work and keeping pupils focused and engaged. This involves managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies, providing support and guidance where needed and helping pupils stay on track. Most importantly you need to be a positive role model, creating a calm and productive learning environment.

For this role you will need excellent communication and organisational skills, a professional presence and the ability to adapt quickly and a flexible attitude to the demands of the work available. Previous experience in education, youth work, coaching, or tutoring is helpful, but not essential.
