What it s like to be a Family Advocate
As a Family Advocate, you ll have the rewarding task of supporting a range of families – approximately 32 to 40 – in achieving their family and school readiness goals. Your role will involve conducting home visits, coordinating crucial services like medical and dental care, and fostering family self-sufficiency. Be a champion of family engagement, organizing activities to strengthen bonds and empower families.
As a vital link between families and resources, your work will make a lasting impact on the community.
- Conduct home visits and coordinate crucial services (medical and dental care) to support family needs.
- Foster family engagement and organize activities to strengthen bonds and empower families.
- Serve as a vital link between families and community resources to promote self-sufficiency and school readiness goals.
- BA in Human Services or a related field, or 4 years of Head Start experience with strong parent engagement skills.
- Ability to connect with families, cultivate relationships, and empower parents.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools to coordinate services and track progress.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive difference.
