* Candidate will be hired into the appropriate job code (Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician) based on experience and/or education.
Key Responsibilities Direct Patient Care- Assist with all activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulating, turning, repositioning, and transporting patients.
- Provide companionship and one‑to‑one supervision as assigned.
- Perform point‑of‑care tasks such as vital signs, weights, intake and output, blood glucose testing, urine specimen collection, and Foley care.
- Apply, monitor, and remove restraints per protocol; offer diversional activities to reduce restraint use.
- Support patient safety by responding to call lights promptly and reporting changes in patient condition to the RN.
- Assist with patient flow by preparing rooms, transporting patients, and supporting the care team during high‑volume periods.
- Apply and reapply telemetry monitors and follow patient safety indicator and hospital‑acquired condition prevention practices.
- Respond appropriately within the scope of the nursing assistant role during emergent situations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by completing safety checks, cleaning equipment, changing linens, emptying hampers, and keeping hallways clear.
- Stock patient rooms and supply areas; set up patient care equipment within scope.
- Acquire, deliver, and distribute supplies, equipment, nourishments, water pitchers, and patient mail.
- Report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with all members of the healthcare team.
- Demonstrate understanding of cultural diversity, workplace safety, and professional behavior.
- Contribute to unit activities such as answering phones, passing meal trays, and assisting colleagues as needed.
- Establish effective interpersonal relationships and support a positive, accountable team culture.
- Document patient care and observations accurately in the medical record.
- Complete clerical tasks as needed by the department.
- Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, including safety procedures, standard precautions, and blood borne pathogen protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient and hospital‑related information.
- Seek feedback and incorporate it constructively.
- Identify learning needs and communicate them to leadership.
- Request assistance with planning and prioritizing tasks when needed.
- Participate in self‑review and ongoing skill development.
