Purpose
The Warehouse Technician is responsible for performing industrial shrink wrapping, receiving and managing incoming materials, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment. This role works closely with the warehouse and shop managers to support daily operations including unloading deliveries, processing materials through the warehouse management system, and delivering orders to designated workstations. Performs related work as required.
Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Perform industrial shrink wrapping of equipment and materials using approved tools and techniques to ensure secure transport and storage.
- Unload trucks and verify incoming shipments against documentation using the warehouse management system.
- Accurately check in and label materials upon arrival.
- Sweep, clean, and organize the warehouse and shop areas to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Work directly with shop managers to fulfill material orders and deliver them to appropriate workstations in a timely manner.
- Assist with general warehouse operations as needed, including packaging, staging, and inventory handling.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures when operating equipment and handling materials.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with industrial shrink wrapping or warehouse operations preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems and inventory control processes
- Forklift certification is a plus, or willingness to obtain
- Obtain OSHA 30 Hours within 1st year
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- Proven ability to multi-task effectively in a detail-oriented environment
- Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Committed to following established company safety protocols
- Ability to adapt to a changing work schedule, with occasional need to work weekends and/or overtime
- Heavy lifting may be involved
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching
- Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and more occasionally
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel and crouch
- Ability to work in a variety of temperature and weather conditions
