Position Overview
The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire an Electrician for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois to receive day-today guidance and assignments from the Stationary Engineer-Assistant Chief. Performs preventive maintenance and repair of the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system located at the facility. Performs preventative maintenance activities on 400HZ motor generators, including lubrication and checking units for excessive vibration and noise.
Changes building ballasts and bulbs. Installs and maintains battery systems ensuring proper function and integrity of batteries and that the battery charging systems are working correctly.
Essential Functions
* Receives day-to-day guidance and assignments from the Chief Stationary Engineer-Assistant Chief at the Alton Mental Health Center.
* Performs preventive maintenance and repair of the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system located at the facility.
* Performs preventative maintenance activities on 400HZ motor generators, including lubrication and checking units for excessive vibration and noise.
* Changes building ballasts and bulbs.
* Installs and maintains battery systems ensuring proper function and integrity of batteries and that the battery charging systems are working correctly.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
* Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
* Requires proof of possession of successful completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program and four (4) years full-time journey level electrician experience OR eight (8) years of full-time journey level electrician experience.
