American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience, ACLS, and ventilator skills, with floating responsibilities to MS/Tele and other units.

• 12-bed ICU with an average daily census of 8 patients
• Patient population includes stroke, cardiac (cardioversion, pacemaker — no open heart), and a high volume of overdose cases; adult and geriatric age groups
• Special procedures performed include central line placement, bronchoscopy, and PEG tube
• Required skills include ventilator management, IV insertion, and telemetry monitoring
• Epic EMR experience required
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Floating may be required to MS/Tele, medical, surgical, or intermediate care units; MS/Tele and medical/surgical ratios are 1:5–6
• An 8-bed step-down unit is available but not always open
• Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed

• Active IL RN license required; candidates with a pending IL license may be considered (note pending status)
• Active MO state RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Proficiency with ventilators, IV insertion, and telemetry monitoring
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Free parking on site
• Travelers may remain at this BJC facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
