Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg role in a skilled nursing and rehab unit, requiring an active IL RN license and IV certification.
Responsibilities- Work in a skilled nursing and rehab unit within a long-term care facility
- Typical patient load involves direct care for up to 20 residents with an average daily census of 72
- Patient population consists of dementia and post-surgical patients requiring specialized medical and rehabilitative care
- Day shifts are 3x12 hours from 6:30 to 19:00 with every other weekend required
- Uses Power Chart for charting
- Involves with acute care and administration of IV medications, as well as wound care
- Lifting equipment is available for patient mobility and care
- No on-call responsibilities
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside outside a 75-mile radius to be eligible for this position
- Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 7 days of requested time off (RTO) permitted per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during orientation
- Cannot take every holiday off; holiday coverage may be required
- Scrub attire must be any shade of blue
- Free parking provided on site
- Works closely with CNAs and HCAs in a team-based environment
- Orientation includes completion of paid modules prior to start
- Active IL RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
- IV certification required before starting
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Dementia care training or experience highly recommended
- Strong customer service skills required
- EPIC charting experience required for certain units
