Join the Sleep Lab Team at BJC Health's Alton Memorial Hospital as a Non-Registered Polysomnographic Technologist. This position involves overnight polysomnographic testing for adult patients, including patient set-up, monitoring, troubleshooting equipment, scoring as applicable, and more.

- Required*
- Completed the A-STEP training program on-line AASM Modules associated with the A-STEP Program.
- Passed the Final online exam associated with the A-STEP Program.
Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Alton Memorial offers a range of inpatient and outpatient services, and the sleep department performs testing to determine sleep patterns and address poor sleep habits.
Role PurposeProvide therapeutic, diagnostic and assessment‑related responsibilities within the Sleep Lab department, ensuring quality clinical outcomes in sleep testing procedures. Able to accurately and efficiently complete test analysis (scoring).
Responsibilities- Applies electrodes and sensors to patient; prepares, calibrates, and maintains equipment; performs PAP mask fittings.
- Performs sleep studies, initiates and maintains various modes of therapy.
- Recognizes and manages various respiratory conditions.
- Scores sleep and wake stages, scores clinical events.
- Generates reports and transfers data to the appropriate media.
- High School Diploma or GED
- No Experience
- Basic Cardiovascular Life Support
- Bachelor's Degree
- Psychology/related
- Cert/Reg in Area of Expertise
