Role Overview

The Graduate Analyst Developer is part of the RED Data & Digital team working across both the Public and Private sectors to bid and deliver work to grow the business. The role holder is responsible for undertaking software development activities, ensuring the successful delivery of defined tasks as part of a project, and maintaining the highest standards of software quality. This will be a hybrid role based in Alton.

Responsibilities
  • Developing and running mathematical models to assist in providing expert advice to clients to support decision making
  • Developing innovative analysis methods
  • Writing up results of analysis in customer reports and/or scientific papers
  • Conducting background research for new techniques, e.g. AI & ML
  • Extrapolating/analysing data to develop theories to explain phenomena
  • Collaborating with RED colleagues and associates both developers and those from other disciplines
  • Disseminate any new findings at internal meetings, as well as conferences and papers for peer-reviewed scientific journals
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree level education in maths, science or engineering
  • Sound mathematical ability
  • A strong willingness and motivation to learn the many aspects of independent operational analysis, modelling and research
  • A good level of proficiency with all the major Microsoft packages:
    Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc
  • An aptitude for fast paced technical delivery
  • Enjoys technical challenges and developing knowledge and skills base
  • Works well as part of a team
