Overview
Position Purpose A versatile position within a dynamic nonprofit that helps communities recover after disasters and gets children back in school. This position is temporary and is responsible for leading day to day field implementation of assigned projects, coordinating volunteer teams and on-site activities, and working closely with partners and staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery. This role will support two core projects: helping advance home rebuilding and delivering a school campus improvement project.
The assignment is expected to last 4-5 weeks. Start date is April 20th.
- Lead day-to-day field implementation of assigned projects and coordinate on-site activities.
- Support the Field team in planning the workflow on construction sites.
- Assist the Site Supervisor with on-site tracking, site diary, and work logs.
- Conduct daily on-site health and safety briefings and allocate daily work with the Site Supervisor.
- Provide training and guidance in work scopes to different audiences, such as day volunteers.
- Oversee tasks on construction sites and lead the work of volunteer teams.
- Assist in field coordination as needed.
- Offer skilled troubleshooting and technical assistance on chainsaw, construction, and tarping tasks, depending on skill set.
- Maintain records of work completed, including tracking material usage, volunteer hours, and scopes performed.
- Adhere to and uphold safety and quality standards.
- Assist with procurement and receipt of materials for the school campus work.
- Lead the team at the construction site alongside the partner and support school beautification preparation work.
- Perform other duties as required.

High school diploma or equivalent required. - Related
Experience:
2+ months of volunteer experience and 1+ month in a Team Leader and/or Site Manager role with All Hands and Hearts or equivalent. - Special Competencies/Certification:
Strong written and oral communication; proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets) and Microsoft Office; able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; well organized with ability to prioritize tasks.
- Constantly works in outdoor conditions, including adverse weather.
- Frequently moves items up to 40 lbs on site.
- Frequently operates construction equipment and a computer.
- Frequently ascends/descends ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position and travel as needed.
- Living in a communal environment and exposure to high stress situations.
- Pay rate is $17.81 USD/hour.
