Staff Accountant

The position handles the day-to-day financials for the community as part of a larger multi-community system.

• Financially pre-qualify prospective residents, process monthly resident billing statements and refunds to entrance fees and waitlist deposits.
• Accurately track and enter community census daily ensuring residents are assigned to the correct unit and the correct level of care.
• Accounts receivable reconciliation and collections.
• Point of sale billing and recording.
• Work with department managers and corporate finance team on community budget preparation, management, and analysis of variances.
• Process capital requisitions and invoices, managing spend down.
• Supervise accounting assistant ensuring accurate entry of accounts payable and vendor data.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field and three to five years of experience required. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Notary Public preferred or willingness to obtain Notary Public, experience in Matrix Care, Fin Aid, Point Click Care, and Vena is helpful. Must be able to effectively communicate with other team members, residents and family members at their level of understanding of accounting.

Must have good time management and analytical skills with ability to meet deadlines in an environment where you will experience regular interruptions. This is a customer-facing position.
