Location: Onsite in Alsip, IL.
Compensation: $72,000 - $105,000.

Griffith Foods is a family‑owned business founded in 1919, headquartered in Alsip, Illinois. We partner with food companies to develop products that are better for people and the planet.

We are looking for a Food Scientist to complete projects and technical initiatives to develop new and optimized products for Griffith US Product Development. Your work will apply scientific principles to develop, improve, and ensure the safety and quality of Griffith Foods products.

• Design, plan, execute, and report experiments and projects.
• Complete product formulation activities to drive efficient production of safe and regulatory‑complaint food products.
• Support innovation and sensory activities that support the long‑term strategy of the organization.
• Represent Product Development in professional business relationships with client and supplier bases.
• Drive new product concepts for product category by contributing ideas.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Meat Science, or related technical degree.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Research & Product Development or Quality Systems within the food industry.
• Customer‑facing experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• Experience with QSR customers and processors.
• Ability to function as a scientist, developing new and optimized products.
• Must be able to consume and taste meat, poultry, and seafood products that may contain allergens (wheat, dairy, egg, etc.).
• Willingness and ability to work onsite in Alsip, IL, five days per week.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% on short notice.

• Ability to work with limited independence, exercising ingenuity and judgment.
• Ability to work within assigned priorities, projects, and timelines concurrently.
• Exceptional communication skills.
