2nd Shift Manufacturing Engineer; Quality

Job Summary

We’re a precision machining shop looking for a strong quality presence on night shift. This role owns quality operations during nights. Title is “Night Engineer,” but we’re open to experienced quality leads or engineers depending on background. This role will eventually lead all night shift labs.

This role exists because nights need real authority and decision-making.

• Own all quality activities on night shift
• Run and oversee quality labs during nights (CMM, inspection, gauging, etc.)
• Make real-time quality decisions without waiting on day shift
• Support production with inspections, first articles, in-process checks, and final inspections
• Investigate nonconformances and initiate corrective actions during the shift
• Ensure prints, specs, and customer requirements are followed
• Communicate clear handoffs to day shift quality leadership
• Maintain calibration and proper use of inspection equipment
• Enforce quality standards and stop production when required

• Strong quality background in a precision machining environment
• Experience with GD&T, blueprints, and tight tolerances
• Hands‑on experience with inspection tools (CMM preferred)
• Ability to work independently and make judgment calls
• Comfortable being the highest quality authority on shift
• Good communication and documentation skills
