About the Position
Operating Room (OR) Circulating Nurse
Location:
Chicago, Illinois, USA
Job Type: Full-Time
Work Setting: Onsite Operating Room
Shifts:
Monday Friday, starting 6:30 AM 7:00 AM
Salary : $83000 - $112000
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Operating Room Circulating Nurse to join a dynamic surgical team. In this role, you will support surgeons and perioperative staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care . The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong teamwork, and is committed to providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide perioperative nursing care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Assist and support surgical teams during operations across the age continuum
Supervise and guide other OR staff when needed
Maintain a safe and well-prepared operating room environment
Collaborate with medical staff to optimize patient care and communication
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and adherence to core values
Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital policies and standards
Participate in continuous learning and professional development
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing school (required)
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
4 5 years of OR experience (required), including experience in spine, orthopedic, and robotic surgeries preferred
Knowledge of operating room supplies and inventory management
Ability to work variable hours and adapt to new techniques
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety
