Job Description

Key Responsibilities Safety & Health Program Management
  • Develop, implement, and manage workplace safety programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and state/local regulations.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations.
  • Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with injury and illness prevention programs, ergonomics, and industrial hygiene requirements.
  • Maintain and update safety manuals, procedures, and policies.
Environmental Compliance
  • Oversee environmental programs, including waste management, air emissions, stormwater, SPCC, sustainability initiatives, and chemical management.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental reporting requirements (e.g., Tier II, TRI, hazardous waste manifests).
  • Maintain records and permits required for environmental operations.
Training & Employee Engagement
  • Develop and deliver training programs (safety orientation, emergency response, PPE, lockout/tagout, etc.).
  • Promote a strong safety culture through communication, coaching, and employee engagement.
  • Support safety committees and facilitate safety meetings.
Regulatory Compliance
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare for and manage external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Maintain required documentation, logs, and regulatory reports.
Emergency Preparedness
  • Develop and manage emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Lead drills (fire, spill response, medical emergencies).
  • Serve as primary contact for emergency response activities.
Data, Metrics & Continuous Improvement
  • Track, analyze, and report safety and environmental metrics.
  • Identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Implement programs that reduce incidents, increase operational efficiency, and improve safety performance.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or related environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state/local regulations.
  • Experience managing safety programs and conducting training.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred
  • Professional certifications (CSP, CHMM, CIH, ASP, etc.).
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or similar compliance systems.
  • Experience using EHS management software or digital reporting tools.
