  • At least two years of experience in enrollment services (Admissions, Financial Aid, or Recruitment) or other higher‑education student services.
  • Experience working with college students, ability to drive and/or travel as needed, and public speaking experience to large and small groups.
  • Understanding of college admissions guidelines and higher‑education recruitment procedures.
  • Proficiency with PC operations and common software (Banner, imaging systems, Microsoft Office).
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills; ability to speak effectively in all settings.
  • Ability to plan and execute recruitment events efficiently and professionally, sit and work at a computer for extended periods, and deliver high‑quality customer service via telephone, email, and online chat.
  • Some weekend work may be required.
  • Ability to manage stress, work independently and collaboratively, and interact professionally and courteously.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • One year of direct experience in university admissions or enrollment management, alumni status at Sul Ross State University, and fluency in both English and Spanish.
Primary Responsibilities

Meets annual enrollment goals set by the Executive Director for Enrollment Management and the Director of Admissions by actively managing the enrollment funnel and recruitment process within the El Paso region. Serves as the primary liaison for Sul Ross State University at the El Paso Leadership Academy (EPLA) and represents SRSU at recruitment events throughout El Paso.

Duties
  • Member of the Sul Ross State University Admissions team, managing the El Paso recruitment territory and marketing university programs to prospective students, families, businesses, community groups, and other stakeholders.
  • SRSU liaison at El Paso Leadership Academy, providing on‑site support, information, and guidance on dual credit, undergraduate admissions, and other inquiries.
  • Plan, schedule, and participate in college fairs, school visits, community events, and virtual sessions across the El Paso area, with extensive regional travel (50–65% of the time).
  • Coordinate and conduct strategic outreach and follow‑up through in‑person visits, phone calls, virtual meetings, direct mail, and email to encourage student applications and enrollment.
  • Maintain consistent and strategic communication (in‑person or virtual appointments, phone calls, direct mail, email) to encourage applications and enrollment.
  • Counsel prospective applicants and families on the admissions process, SRSU programs, and basic financial aid information.
  • Collaborate with Admissions Operations and EPLA staff to ensure documents are processed efficiently for acceptance and enrollment; maintain accurate records in the University CRM.
  • Travel to the Sul Ross State University Alpine campus monthly for multi‑day visits that support team meetings, training, coordination, and processing efforts.
  • Cross‑train in the full enrollment process for all student populations to ensure flexible coverage.
  • Maintain a professional presence at work, adhere to scheduled hours, and participate in ongoing training and professional development, which may include evening or weekend events.
  • Working hours may include evenings, holidays, or weekends depending on deadlines and special events.
  • Protect student privacy in compliance with FERPA and maintain confidentiality in all job‑related matters.
  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of others by practicing safe work habits.
