Salary: $15.00 per hour limited to 20 hours per week
Required:
- Currently enrolled as a student at Sul Ross State University.
- Interest in archaeology, anthropology, history, or related fields preferred.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and handle artifacts carefully.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Any qualifications to be considered in lieu of stated minimums require the prior approval of the Human Resources Director.
Preferred:
- Coursework in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related disciplines.
- Familiarity with basic lab or archival work.
- Willingness to assist with occasional field-related tasks (if applicable).
Staffing Reason:

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with documenting, labeling, and cataloging archaeological artifacts.
- Enter and organize data related to archaeological projects.
- Assist with basic artifact processing (e.g., cleaning, sorting, organizing materials).
- Support project researchers with project-related tasks as deemed appropriate.
- Assist with preparation of materials for analysis, storage, or transport.
- Help maintain organized work spaces and proper handling of research materials.
- Perform other related duties in support of CBBS projects as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry light to moderate materials (as needed)
- Manual dexterity for handling small artifacts and materials
Position is Security Sensitive.
