The ideal candidate must possess an earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Leadership or a closely related field from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching graduate level courses, and service. Experience as a practicing educational leader, serving as a principal, assistant superintendent, or superintendent is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong work ethic, interpersonal, and teamwork skills;
excellent written and verbal communication skills; a great disposition; and superior working relations with students, peers, administrators, and others. Experience in teaching courses through Blackboard and web-course development is strongly desired; preference will be given to candidates with online course design experience and the ability to lead a remote team.
- Teach a broad range of graduate level Education courses as well as courses in the specialty area of Educational Leadership.
- Supervise practicum and/or internship students.
- Actively participate in departmental and university activities.
- Deliver web‑based teaching assignments.
- Recruit and train quality principal candidates by building connections with K‑12 partners.
- Juggle calendars and event planning for multiple K‑12 partners.
- Utilize sophisticated time management and organizational skills.
- Travel as needed.
- Maintain security‑sensitive responsibilities.
