Full‑Time, Non‑Tenure Track OR Resident, Tenure Track
- Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program (or equivalent experience per CACREP grandfathering clause).
- Demonstrated professional counseling identity, including active membership in relevant organizations (e.g., ACA).
- Licensed or license‑eligible as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas or home state.
- Evidence of effective graduate‑level teaching and supervision in counselor education.
- CACREP-accreditation or site visit experience.
- Experience teaching and supporting online counseling programs.
- Clinical supervision experience (LPC‑S preferred).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency.
- Experience working with rural and underserved populations.
- Teach core and specialty CACREP‑aligned graduate courses online.
- Provide individual and group supervision during practicum and internship.
- Maintain current knowledge in counseling theory, ethics, and practice.
- Participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and assessment.
- Mentor graduate students and contribute to student retention initiatives.
- Engage in professional development and scholarly activity.
- Serve on departmental and institutional committees as appropriate.
- Support program compliance with CACREP standards, including accreditation self‑study contributions and data collection.
- Maintain reasonable availability to students via virtual office hours, email, and phone.
- Maintain membership in counseling organizations (e.g., ACA, TCA).
- Pursue continuing education in counselor education and supervision.
- Present at local, state, or national counseling conferences.
- Engage in scholarly research and writing related to counseling practice or education.
- Uphold the mission and values of Sul Ross State University and the MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program.
- Foster partnerships with clinical agencies for practicum and internship placements, especially in rural and bilingual service areas.
- Promote access to mental health education in underserved regions.
- Assist with student recruitment and program marketing across Texas.
