Load Up – Software Engineer (Mid-Level)

Load Up is a fast‑growing company offering a tech‑enabled order management and logistics platform for consumer pickup and assembly services. We match consumers with our network of service providers for junk removal, haul‑away, reverse logistics, white‑glove assembly, and more.

We’re seeking a strong Mid‑Level Software Engineer with deep experience in Ruby on Rails to join our Product & Engineering team. You will play a key part in scaling our platform, delivering new capabilities, and shaping the future of Load Up’s technology organization.

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design, and ship new product features.
• Contribute to frontend development using React, Stimulus, Turbo, and Type Script.
• Develop and maintain APIs, background jobs, and third‑party integrations using Graph
  
  QL, Redis, and Sidekiq Pro.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code using RSpec, Capybara, and Jest.
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Help scale and optimize system performance, reliability, and security.
• Work within agile development processes and adapt to evolving product requirements.

• 3+ years building web applications with Ruby on Rails.
• 3+ years working with SQL databases, preferably Postgre
  
  SQL.
• 3+ years of frontend development using JavaScript and/or Type Script.
• Hands‑on experience developing and consuming APIs.
• Experience working in agile development environments.

• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails and modern web application development.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and responsive design.
• Ability to translate wireframes and mockups into clean, semantic and accessible UI.
• Experience with Git and Git Hub‑based workflows.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as RSpec, Capybara and Jest.

• Excellent communication skills across engineering, product and design teams.
• Comfortable giving and receiving feedback through code reviews and technical discussions.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with delivery timelines.

• Experience integrating with payment APIs such as Stripe, Ruby Pay or Braintree.
• Experience with Graph
  
  QL APIs.
• Exposure to scaling production systems and performance optimization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
