Job Summary

Under general direction of the physician and/or office manager, the nurse supervisor provides nursing care, plans and oversees departmental staff nursing activities, and ensures adherence to policies, procedures, standards and regulations. A multidisciplinary team approach to care is utilized. The supervisor promotes clinical competency and maintains clinical quality control through leading and supporting survey readiness efforts. The role is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers, ensuring that patients, families and significant others receive individualized, high‑quality, safe care.

Leadership is provided through the Well Star Clinical Champion Forum and guided by the Well Star Professional Practice Model, 5‑Star Nursing, and evidence‑based practice. The RN is expected to maintain licensure and uphold the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and American Nurses Association standards.

Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions
  • Professional Responsibility: Deliver exemplary practice and outcomes, perform the nursing process, provide patient‑centered care, and practice current clinical standards.
  • Teamwork and

    Collaboration:

    Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care, promote interdisciplinary communication, and foster an inclusive environment.
  • Professional Development and Initiative: Complete competency assessments, serve as preceptor/mentor, and support workforce development.
  • Evidence‑Based Practice and Research: Promote evidence‑based practice, participate in research and performance improvement, and uphold regulatory standards.
  • Resources and Support: Plan patient care across the continuum, develop protocols, and support efficient use of resources.
  • Leadership: Plan staff operations, recruit and orient staff, interpret policies, and lead quality initiatives.
  • Compliance and

    Risk Management:

    Maintain policies, lead survey readiness, and participate in site assessments.
  • Human Resource Management: Apply HR policies, assist hiring, and delegate responsibilities.
  • Practice Operations: Manage staffing and supply levels, support financial viability, and liaise with informatics.
Required

Minimum Education
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (minimum). Preferred:
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Required Minimum License(s) And Certification(s)
  • RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – RN (Multi‑state Compact).
  • BLS – Basic Life Support (or equivalent ARC‑BLS, BLS‑I).
  • ACLS/PALS may be required in some practice areas.
Additional License(s) And Certification(s)

Current and active RN license in the State of Georgia; current BLS card from the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Required Minimum Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse; may consider 1 year of experience as a licensed RN or LPN in a physician practice setting with more than 2 years overall experience.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred; specific experience in practice specialty preferred.
