Join Crane Currency as a 2nd Shift Quality Technician in Alpharetta, GA

This role operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.
We offer a competitive pay rate based on experience and a $2.00 2nd shift differential.
Training for this role will be on 1st shift hours (6:00 AM to 2:30 PM) for up to the first 3 months before transitioning to your regular 2nd Shift schedule.

Howyou will make an impact:
A Quality Technician ensures products meet established specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations within the manufacturing plant. They help maintain process stability by identifying defects, performing root cause analysis, and supporting corrective and preventive actions. Through routine inspections, testing, and data analysis, they provide early detection of quality issues that could impact safety, cost, or throughput. Their work strengthens operational efficiency by reducing scrap, rework, and downtime while enhancing overall product reliability.
By collaborating closely with production, engineering, and quality teams, the Quality Technician helps build a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence across the plant.
- Work collaboratively for the execution of routine and non-routine analysis of existing products and materials under development.
- Accurately and efficiently prepare and test samples based on existing procedures and/or recipes and instructions provided by the scientists and process engineers.
- Collect test samples, data and record results. Document results reporting with basic statistics including tables, graphs, photos and written reports.
- Assist with maintenance of quality procedures and work instructions.
- Perform daily, weekly, or monthly routine equipment verification, recording results and escalating any malfunctions.
- Based on operational need, may be asked to train Associates on equipment/process/products.
- Based on operational need, may be asked to cross-train on other equipment/process/products.
- Assure compliance with ISO standards and complete other tasks as assigned.
- Support organizational continuous improvement activities as required.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent in experience.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Quality-focused technical role.
- Ability to perform required functions with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to read, write, keep neat and accurate records, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work with computer systems including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree in a technical field or commensurate experience.
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience in using a variety of precision measuring tools, including desktop calipers, optical comparator, and digital microscopes.
- Ability to frequently walk, stand, reach, and push/pull.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs., climb, kneel, and finger/handle.
- Vision correctable to 20/20; specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
