PositionScope
This full-time team member will contribute to the growth and success of our members by managing city-specific business councils as well as our young professional’s programs. This position requires the skills of project coordination, communications and event planning as well as highly skilled organization of volunteer leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBusiness Councils
- Work with existing Alpharetta and Milton Business Council Boards as well as any future Business Council Boards
- Plan and implement all Business Council events by securing venues, speakers and caterers.
- Staff and coordinate volunteers for each program
- Work with marketing on promotion of Business Council membership and events.
- Secure sponsor ships as needed to meet budget requirements. Manage sponsorship benefits promised to ensure all are carried out.
- Manage the budget to ensure the actual net revenue exceeds the budgeted net revenue.
- Photograph, archive, and promote Business Councils on social media, in monthly newsletters, and GNFCC website
- Partner with marketing to create and execute all communications for Business Councils.
Next Gen (Young Professionals) and Mentor Match Programs
- Manage, grow, and create a brand and marketing strategy for the Next Gen Young Professional’s program, coordinating and staffing all events, professional development programming, community service projects, and opportunities for young professionals in North Fulton
- Recruit young leaders to serve on the Next Gen Council and manage leadership group
- Create a new Next Gen Top 10 Awards Program for North Fulton Young Professionals
- Lead the Mentor Match program pairing young professionals with seasoned professionals for a year-long mentor/mentee relationship
- Plan all event logistics, secure locations, vendors and sponsors, create engaging programming, coordinate budget of programs, and coordinate marketing communications efforts for all events
- Drive brand awareness, credibility, and growth of each initiative through strategic brand public relations, marketing, social media, and stakeholder engagement efforts
- Benchmark growth of programs through metrics and competitive research and analysis
- Coordinate and communicate regularly with Council Chair and Members
Required Skills:
- Must have prior or current event coordination experience
- Demonstrates sound judgment in deciding when to resolve challenges independently and when to escalate to leadership for support or decision-making.
- Able to recognize potential issues early and assess their impact on timelines, resources, or outcomes.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
- Energized by interacting with people; great communications skills, exhibiting a positive and professional demeanor.
- Demonstrated dependability and reliability with respect to timeliness, attendance, follow-through, and ability to work independently and efficiently.
- An organized self-starter who loves the energy and innovation of group brainstorming and then running with an idea from beginning to end
Desired Skill:
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with volunteer leaders or participating as a volunteer a plus
- Understanding of and demonstrated experience in communication and marketing strategy
- Goal driven, enthusiastic, self-motivated
- Ability to work on multiple projects and programs and multi-task with ease
- Creative mindset to problem solve and adapt
- Ability to work as a team player, and desire to have fun, make a difference and enjoy your teammates
Compensation
Compensation commensurate with qualifications & experience. The Chamber also provides a generous benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance and 401(k) compensation program with employer matching. This position is in office and enjoys 20 paid holidays, and up to 15 days PTO with flexible schedule for team members to prioritize family commitments. The Greater North Fulton Chamber is located in the 10000 building ed and dedicated employee parking is provided.
