The PMO Director at Landis+Gyr is responsible for establishing, leading, and optimizing the Program Management Office to ensure consistent delivery of complex, multi‑disciplinary programs across the organization. This role involves creating and maintaining PMO frameworks, standards, and best practices to guide project execution and governance. The Director builds and manages a high‑performing program and project management team, drives the adoption of methodologies such as the stage‑gate process, and oversees the planning and execution of the entire R&D program portfolio.
Additionally, the PMO Director develops integrated master schedules and resource forecasts, ensuring cross‑functional alignment among key departments.
Strategic planning and execution are central to the role, requiring the Director to deliver results that support organizational objectives while navigating challenges associated with large‑scale, cross‑functional initiatives.
Reporting to the VP of R&D, the PMO Director plays a critical leadership role in supporting company growth and innovation through effective program and portfolio management.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain PMO frameworks, standards, and best practices.
- Build and lead a high‑performing program and project management organization.
- Own the stage‑gate process and drive adoption of methodologies.
- Maintain, develop and update PMO Governance, standards, best practices, and reporting related to the PM discipline.
- Responsible for the program delivery and program results for the Americas R&D program.
- Oversee planning and execution of the full program portfolio.
- Develop integrated master schedules and resource forecasts.
- Ensure cross‑functional alignment across major groups.
- Facilitate annual and quarterly portfolio planning.
- Align execution with company strategy and customer commitments.
- Own the program management toolset.
- Establish and track KPIs.
- Ensure consistent project documentation and cross‑functional communication.
- Review and give feedback to teams based on analytics related to Project Performance and timelines.
- Supports and adheres to Company’s core values.
- Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned or required.
- Supports and adheres to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
- Represents Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both internal and external customers.
- Strong technical expertise and business acumen within Project Management.
- Provide technical project management and leadership for every aspect of R&D development efforts.
- Strong program/project management and leadership skills and the ability to champion disciplined project management best practices in challenging situations.
- Experience in Agile, SCRUM, Test Driven Development and Waterfall methodologies.
- Successful record of accomplishment in delivering product projects that include multiple system integrations.
- Proven ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate openly, honestly, and constructively while treating employees and customers with dignity, respect, and courtesy.
