Evans General Contractors, LLC is seeking a skilled and motivated attorney with 5–7 years of legal experience to join our Legal Department. This role is critical to supporting the company’s operations and growth through strategic contract negotiation, legal counsel, and risk management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction law, with experience interpreting and/or negotiating complex contracts strongly preferred. Familiarity with insurance policy interpretation is a plus.
This is an onsite position based out of either our Alpharetta, GA or Dallas, TX office.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate owner contracts, subcontracts, design agreements, and purchase orders.
- Provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle—from RFP responses and preconstruction to post-construction warranty and claims.
- Advise project teams on legal matters including change orders, claims, notices, and contract administration.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external counsel to resolve legal issues and support business objectives.
- Conduct legal research and prepare opinions and correspondence.
- Participate in regulatory compliance efforts and risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 5–7 years of experience in construction law and contract negotiation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new legal tech tools.
