System Engineer - Cloud

We are seeking an experienced Network Cloud Operations Engineer to support 24x7 operations, administration, and maintenance of a Linux-based Network Cloud (NC) infrastructure. This role focuses on managing production server environments, deploying software and firmware updates, supporting Open Stack and Kubernetes platforms, and maintaining both software‑defined and physical hardware infrastructure (Dell & HP). The ideal candidate brings strong Linux administration expertise, hands‑on hardware break/fix experience, and deep knowledge of cloud, virtualization, storage, and CI/CD environments.

• $62/hr on W2 to $68/hr on W2

• Perform 24x7 operations, monitoring, and maintenance of Linux‑based Network Cloud infrastructure.
• Deploy and upgrade Linux OS, BIOS/firmware, Open Stack, Kubernetes, Calico, Ceph, Maria
  
  DB, and related software components.
• Administer and support Open Stack modules including Keystone, Nova, Neutron, Swift, Cinder, Heat, Glance, Horizon, and Fuel.
• Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and containerized environments.
• Execute Jenkins pipelines (certificate rotations, OS/code upgrades, firmware updates) and manage Git Hub repositories.
• Perform Dell and HP x86 hardware break/fix, coordinate with vendors for replacements and escalations.
• Restore applications/services during outages or service degradation scenarios from hardware, OS, or Open Stack perspectives.
• Implement infrastructure changes including creating, reviewing, approving, and executing change requests.
• Support Ceph software‑defined storage and ensure high availability and fault tolerance.
• Monitor infrastructure using Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana.
• Perform scripting using Python and Shell for automation and operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with OS vendors, development teams, and production support teams for root cause analysis and configuration updates.
• Ensure compliance with HA, DRS, scalability, reliability, and shared resource best practices.
• Work collaboratively across global teams and maintain strong customer focus.

• 3–5 years of Linux System Administration (production environment required).
• 3–5 years of Dell & HP physical server hardware break/fix experience.
• 1–3 years of Kubernetes, Open Stack, Ceph, Calico, and Ansible experience.
• Experience with KVM and/or VMware virtualization platforms.
• 1–3 years of CI/CD experience (Jenkins pipeline execution and Git Hub repository management).
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana).
• Knowledge of SSL/TLS certificate management.
• Experience with Azure cloud platform.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work in 24x7 rotational shifts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working across global and cross‑functional teams.

• Certifications in Linux, Open Stack, and Kubernetes.
• Engineering/Graduation degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
