Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Alpharetta, GA
. The ideal candidate must have deep DB2 10.5/11.1 administration expertise to perform migrations and optimize performance while resolving replication and operational issues.
$45/hour to $53/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities Include
- Install, upgrade, and configure IBM DB2 (v10.5/11.1) across standalone, DPF, and HADR environments; enforce best practices for access and database governance.
- Administer and optimize databases via performance tuning (buffer pools, indexes, stats) and maintenance tasks (REORG, RUNSTATS, DBCC), ensuring stability and SLA adherence.
- Design, set up, and manage replication (table-level, Warm Standby, MSA), including tuning and resolution of replication operation issues.
- Execute migrations using Dump/Load and in-place upgrades; plan and validate cutovers, rollbacks, and post‑migration health checks.
- Troubleshoot application/database performance issues end‑to‑end, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and create/modify automation for recurring DB tasks (e.g., backups, checks).
- Provide 24x7 support through on‑call rotation, maintain dev/test database servers, monitor system health, and manage vendor cases/PMRs with IBM to drive resolutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 6–8 years of hands‑on experience in IBM DB2 database administration and support.
- Strong, detailed knowledge of IBM DB2 10.5/11.1 administration, replication server management, HADR/DPF configurations, and database migration processes.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues, maintain DB2 environments (REORG, DBCC, etc.), and support 24x7 operations including working with IBM PMR for issue resolution.

Pay Details$45.00 to $53.00 per hour
