Compensation: $60.00 - 65.00 per hour, W2, depending on skill and experience level.
Job DescriptionOur client is seeking a hands‑on QA Engineer to support the quality of e‑commerce and transaction‑related APIs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep, detail‑oriented testing, can clearly explain their testing approach, and is comfortable working independently as part of an Agile team. Primarily manual testing with automation responsibilities (approx. 70% manual / 30% automation).
Key Responsibilities- Perform manual functional and regression testing for e‑commerce APIs and transaction flows.
- Create and maintain API test suites in Postman (collections, environments, scripting, chaining, and data setup/teardown as needed).
- Validate request/response payloads and data mappings, including ISO data element awareness in transaction‑related contexts.
- Identify, document, and track defects; partner closely with engineering to drive timely resolution.
- Contribute to test planning, test case design, and continuous improvement of QA processes.
- 4+ years in software QA, including hands‑on API testing in e‑commerce, payments, or other transaction‑heavy systems.
- Strong experience with Postman for API testing and automation (must be able to build and maintain robust collections).
- Familiarity with ISO data elements used in transaction messaging or related data models.
- Strong communication skills: ability to explain test strategy, troubleshooting approach, and past work clearly and concisely.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Onsite 5 days/week in Alpharetta, GA.
- Candidates must be comfortable with a highly hands‑on role (not a QA lead/manager position).
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Exposure to basic performance testing concepts/tools.
- CI/CD familiarity (running automated API checks as part of delivery pipelines).
- Basic API security testing awareness (e.g., auth patterns, negative testing).
