Job Summary:

What does a successful Senior Dev Ops Engineer do? In essence, the core responsibilities revolve around enhancing the software delivery process, improving system reliability, and fostering a collaborative Dev Ops culture. You will help build better systems and products on distributed on‑prem infrastructure and Microsoft Azure Cloud. Our Dev Ops Engineers are experienced technologists with technical breadth and depth coupled with strong interpersonal skills.

As a Senior Dev Ops Engineer, you will work directly with our Application Development, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity teams to optimize CI/CD pipelines and production stability across technology stacks. Our Senior Dev Ops engineers play a critical role in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, focusing on automating and streamlining workflows, ensuring system reliability, and driving efficiency throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Design and implement the overall Dev Ops strategy:
  Identifying areas for improvement, defining goals, and creating a roadmap for Dev Ops transformation.
• Partner with Development and IT operations to ensure smooth integration of software releases into production environments.
• Implement automation and integration processes:
  Automating manual tasks like code deployment and infrastructure provisioning, and integrating systems and tools for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
• Ensure system reliability and efficiency:
  Implement monitoring systems, identify bottlenecks, and optimize performance.
• Mentor and teach existing team members:
  Guide junior engineers and impart knowledge effectively.
• Lead CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance:
  Develop and maintain pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure:
  Implement and manage cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure, and use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation.
• Implement containerization and orchestration solutions:
  Utilize technologies like Docker and Kubernetes for efficient and scalable application deployment.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
  Manage infrastructure through code for consistency and version control.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues:
  Ensure high availability and resolve complex issues.
• Promote Secure Dev Ops by partnering with Cybersecurity on scanning using tools like Fortify, Sonatype, Web Inspect, and liaising with penetration testing teams.

• 7+ years of specific technology experience in Dev Ops focused on distributed on‑prem and cloud environments (Azure preferred, but AWS and Google valuable).
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience preferably in Fin Tech, Financial Services, or SaaS environments.
• Strong technical foundation: proficiency in cloud platforms, scripting languages (Python, Bash), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools:
  Harness, Jenkins, Git Lab, or Circle

• Strong understanding of system architecture: cloud services, microservices, and serverless architectures.
• Mastery in automation tools and scripting languages to streamline workflows and enhance deployment processes.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities to resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
• Leadership & management skills to lead teams and drive transformation.
• Adaptability & learning mindset to quickly adjust to new technologies & methods.
• Experience with tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.
• Experience working with end‑user or developer communities.
