IT Consultant, Systems Analyst
About the role
As a Mainframe / CAGen Lead, you will make an impact by designing and delivering high-quality solutions for complex business requirements in a mainframe environment.
You will be a valued member of the Technology & Engineering team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, offshore teams, and technical leads to ensure timely and defect-free delivery.
In this role, you will:- Partner with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis and prepare design documents for application enhancements.
- Perform coding, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure alignment with design specifications.
- Coordinate with offshore teams for requirement clarifications and smooth handovers.
- Review offshore deliverables to ensure quality and defect-free code.
- Deliver projects on time with zero defects, adhering to organizational standards.

What you need to have to be considered- 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- 8+ years of experience in CAGen programming and toolset.
- 8+ years of experience in Mainframe technologies including COBOL, JCL, Easytrieve, and REXX.
- 8+ years of experience with DB2 databases.
- Hands‑on experience with Linux and Oracle databases.
- Exposure to freight forwarding business processes.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience in reviewing and ensuring quality of offshore deliverables.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Azure Dev Ops.

Salary and Other CompensationThe annual salary for this position is between $65,447 to $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
