EY is seeking a motivated professional with solid experience in the utilities sector to serve as a Senior Manager who possesses a robust background in Data Architecture, Data Modernization, AI, and Gen AI. The role is dedicated to the Power & Utilities sector, where the successful candidate will craft, deploy, and maintain large‑scale AI‑ready data architectures.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver one or more data architecture projects, ensuring quality and effective risk management.
- Drive continuous process improvement through research, analysis, and best‑practice adoption.
- Mentor junior team members and guide technical initiatives within a consulting environment.
- Act as the go‑to resource for clients’ data challenges, delivering solutions around data architectures, platforms, and technologies.
- Support new business development efforts by presenting data strategies to senior client stakeholders.
- Technical skills:
Applications integration, cloud architecture, data architecture design, data integration, data quality, AI/Agentic AI‑driven data operations. - Experience delivering business use cases in Transmission / Distribution / Generation / Customer.
- Strong relationship management and business development skills.
- Ability to engage senior leaders, shape goals, and define information needs.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement data strategies that align with client objectives.
- Lead workshops and design sessions to capture requirements, define use cases, and align on data architecture strategies.
- Design and implement modern data architectures supporting transactional, operational, analytical, and AI workloads.
- Mentor global data architecture and engineering teams, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Establish data governance policies, data security, quality, and lifecycle management practices.
- Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies in data architecture and management.
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM required.
- 12+ years of professional consulting experience or technology consulting.
- 12+ years of hands‑on experience architecting, designing, delivering, or optimizing data lake solutions.
- 5+ years’ experience with native cloud products such as Azure or GCP.
- 8+ years of experience mentoring and leading teams of data architects and data engineers.
- In‑depth knowledge of data architecture principles and best practices.
- Experience leading large data engineering teams to build platforms with complex architectures.
- Hands‑on coding experience in Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and Dev Ops practices for Data Ops.
- Practical understanding of data encryption, access control, and security best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Master’s degree in Electrical / Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or Machine Learning.
- Experience working at a Big‑4 firm or a major utility.
- Experience with cloud data platforms like Databricks.
- Experience leading and influencing teams with a focus on mentorship.
- Passion for innovation and strategic application of emerging technologies.
- Ability to foster an inclusive environment and empower diverse team members.

What We Offer You- Competitive base salary ranging from $144,000 to $329,100 (US) based on location and experience.
