Description
Turnwell Mental Health of Georgia is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in Alpharetta, GA. As the Patient Services Specialist, you will serve as the initial point of contact for our organization, providing excellent customer service and administrative support. You will be responsible for managing the front desk area, assisting visitors, answering phone calls, and performing various clerical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our office.
Responsibilities- Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients. Cover the front desk as needed.
- Check-out patients, assist with referral processing, and arrange laboratory services
- Handle billing process- complete prepayment credit, call to collect, past due balances, reconcile daily deposits.
- Verifying insurance and deductibles while collecting copayments and coinsurance.
- Prepare patients for examination and take vitals. Clean and sanitize area and equipment between each patient.
- Perform routine specimen collection and tests as requested by clinical staff.
- Assist patients with medical related online forms, applications and telehealth.
- Assist Clinical staff with medical record requests, reports, and letters as requested.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies.
- Monitor providers schedules-looking for errors, insurance or chart audits ect.
- Assist with flow of office and any additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program Required
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to always communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
- Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
- Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
- Must be able to always maintain confidentiality with HIPAA guidelines
