We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing Coordinator and Administrative Support Specialist to assist with managing and overseeing the billing processes within our organization. The Billing and Administrative Support Specialist will be responsible for handling all aspects of insurance billing, claim submission, payment posting, and administrative support. This role requires strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, insurance providers, and staff.
Prior mental health or medical billing experience is preferred.
- Submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Verify client insurance benefits and eligibility
- Process payments, post EOBs, and reconcile accounts
- Review and correct denied or rejected claims
- Manage insurance authorizations and track expiration dates
- Follow up on outstanding claims and unpaid balances
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim issues
- Prepare monthly billing reports for management
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulation
- Answer inbound calls, emails, and client inquiries
- Assist with scheduling appointments as needed
- Maintain organized electronic and paper records
- Support clinicians with documentation and administrative needs
- Greet clients and provide professional front-office support
- Assist with intake paperwork and client onboarding
- Help maintain office supplies and general organization
- Support general operations and special projects assigned by leadership
- Experience in medical or mental health billing required
- Knowledge of insurance processes, CPT codes, and EOBs
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with billing software and electronic health records (EHR) preferred
- High school diploma required; associate degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field a plus
