Overview
Financial Reporting Senior Accountant with a B2B services company.
The Financial Reporting Senior Accountant will assist in the preparation of the financial reporting package, including US GAAP financial statements
, footnotes, and other supplementary schedules. This individual maintains relevant balance sheet reconciliations and supports documentation.
- Assist in preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements: balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, statement of equity, and supporting materials.
- Assist in preparation of financial statement footnotes.
- Implement continuous improvement of periodic reporting package to enhance timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial management information.
- Prepare roll-forward reporting for key balance sheet captions such as goodwill, intangibles, fixed assets, leases, debt, and equity.
- Document internal processes and support for financial reports.
- Prepare balance sheet and income statement comparative analyses to identify and resolve potential errors.
- Prepare and submit ad-hoc journal entries as needed.
- Serve as a resource for internal and external audit inquiries and ad-hoc management reporting.
- Assist in establishing, implementing, and improving all accounting policies and procedures required for a SOX compliant financial operation.
- Take ownership of assigned areas of responsibilities to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
- Assist in the implementation of IPO readiness related to SEC reporting and technical accounting.
- Assist in the preparation of annual environmental, social, governance reporting.
- Partner with the business units on accounting and financial reporting matters.
- Develop strong cross-functional relationships and serve as a key business partner with General Ledger Accounting, Mergers and Acquisitions, Tax, Financial Planning and Analysis, Legal, and Human Resources to ensure that all transactions are properly reflected in financial statements.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred; public accounting experience preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting and reporting experience.
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP and external reporting.
- Experience with the application and adoption of new accounting standards.
- Leadership experience a plus but not required.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and consistency in preparing work.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Aptitude for working with data and managing complex data workflows.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Preference for familiarity with the following tools and technology:
- Multiple ERPs
- Workiva
- SQL
- Python
- Business Intelligence and Analytical Process Automation
- Microsoft Copilot
- Experience working for a $1B company preferred.
