Join EY’s Financial Services Organization (FSO) as a Tax Services Senior Manager within the State and Local Income Tax (SALT) practice. In this role you will support clients across banking, capital markets, wealth management, insurance, and real estate, providing advanced state and local tax expertise and strategy.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Analyzing a portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights.
- Identifying potential opportunities and risks, and communicating findings to clients.
- Researching current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor.
- Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve client tax activities.
- Researching client business operations and building long‑lasting relationships to tailor advice to their specific needs.
- Supervising a motivated team of professionals, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge, and opportunities to reach their full potential.
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
- CPA, licensed attorney, or EA credential.
- Minimum of eight years of professional experience in state and local income/franchise tax processes.
- Experience managing budgets, people, and projects.
- Proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization.
- Technical writing and research experience in a tax context.
- Ability to prioritize while working on multiple complex projects.
- Strong influencing skills and confidence to question existing processes.
- Proven record in a professional services environment or in‑house experience within a wealth and asset management company.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, One Source Tax Compliance Software, Corptax, and/or Premium Pro.
- Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Ability to adapt work style to collaborate with internal teams and client team members.
- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with base salary ranging from $132,700 to $303,200 depending on location.
- Hybrid work model with 40‑60% in‑person client engagement.
