Position: Performance Manager

Position Summary

The Performance Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and transparency of investment performance reporting. This individual will play a critical role in managing composite creation and maintenance, conducting attribution analysis, and implementing performance measurement platforms to support client reporting and internal decision-making.

What You Will Do

Composite Management

  • Create and maintain performance composites for various investment strategies
  • Ensure timely updates and accuracy across all composite structures.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Investment teams to validate composite definitions and to develop composite-related marketing materials.
  • Maintain documentation of composite policies and procedures to support future compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (or GIPS®), audits, and verification.

Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Calculate and validate portfolio performance across strategies and benchmarks.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support client reporting needs with customized performance data.
  • Ensure consistency of performance data across internal systems and client-facing platforms.

Attribution Analysis

  • Conduct regular and ad hoc performance attribution analysis.
  • Provide insights into drivers of portfolio returns and variances from benchmarks.
  • Partner with the Investment teams to interpret and communicate attribution results.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate attribution insights into portfolio strategy discussions and client communications.

Platform Implementation

  • Lead or support the implementation and/or enhancement of performance measurement systems.
  • Ensure data integrity and automation across performance workflows.
  • Evaluate and onboard new tools or vendors as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT to integrate performance reporting and composite creation automation into existing infrastructure.

Requirements
  • Proficiency in performance systems such as Fact Set, Bloomberg, Morningstar, or similar.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot point tables and complex formulas.
  • Familiarity with SQL or Python for data analysis and automation.
  • Knowledge of Power BI for performance visualization is a plus.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement (CIPM) designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in investment performance analysis.
  • Strong understanding of GIPS standards and performance attribution, methodologies, including Brinson attribution models.
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
