Position: EA Accountant (Enrolled Agent)

Base Pay Range

$40,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Position Summary

MCK Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounting Enrolled Agent (EA) to join our tax team in Alpharetta, GA. The ideal candidate will help prepare federal and state payroll tax and provide strategic tax planning. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EA looking to grow their career in a supportive and client‑focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely individual and company tax filings.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Review payroll and other tax data and financials for completeness and accuracy.
  • Communicate clearly with the team regarding tax positions, deadlines, and requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional team relationships.
  • Respond to team inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct detailed tax research to ensure accurate interpretation of tax laws.
  • Stay current on changes in tax legislation and best practices.
  • Attend training and continuing education to maintain EA credentials.
  • Work closely with other tax professionals and staff.
  • Mentor and assist junior team members when needed.
  • Contribute to process improvement and quality‑control initiatives.
Qualifications Required:
  • Active Enrolled Agent (EA) designation.
  • Minimum 1‑2 years of tax preparation and IRS representation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of individual and business payroll and taxation.
  • Excellent tax research and analytical skills.
  • Professional communication and client service skills.
  • Proficiency or familiarity with tax preparation software (e.g., Quickbooks, Sage).
Preferred:
  • Experience in public accounting or a tax firm setting.
  • Familiarity with state and local tax compliance.
  • Advanced tax planning experience.
