Project Name:
Arclin Project ESG Quantification
Arclin has implemented multiple projects with meaningful Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) impacts over the past several years; however, these contributions have not been consistently quantified or communicated. The absence of standardized methods for assessing carbon footprint reductions, waste minimization, and other ESG‑related benefits limits visibility to internal stakeholders and external rating bodies. This lack of harmonization also hinders Engineering, R&T, and site teams from evaluating sustainability impacts using a consistent, repeatable framework—creating the risk of underreporting progress and missing opportunities to improve ESG performance.
Deliverables- Project Identification & Review: Conduct a comprehensive review of historic ESG‑relevant initiatives across Arclin’s facilities and business units.
- Standardized Sustainability Evaluation Framework: Establish clear guidance and standardized procedures (SOP/checklist) for future ESG project assessments, increasing consistency and accuracy.
- Quantification of ESG Impacts: Assess enterprise‑level environmental outcomes of selected projects, with primary emphasis on carbon footprint reduction
, energy efficiency improvements, and waste‑minimization outcomes. - Checklist / SOP for ESG Impact Evaluation: Develop a standardized tool and corresponding procedure that guides teams on how to evaluate future sustainability projects, ensuring consistent and auditable ESG impact assessments.
- Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Gain experience working with Engineering, R&T, Operations, and site teams within a manufacturing environment to understand how sustainability integrates into daily operations. - Carbon Footprint & Waste Analysis Tools: Learn and apply quantitative methodologies such as GHG Protocol–based carbon calculations, emissions factors, waste characterization, and environmental data interpretation.
- Carbon Reduction Strategies: Build foundational understanding of approaches to lower environmental impact, including process optimization, energy efficiency, materials selection, and waste reduction best practices.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Foundational Understanding of Environmental Principles: Basic knowledge of sustainability concepts, carbon accounting, waste reduction, and environmental compliance.
- Analytical & Research Capabilities: Ability to gather environmental data, review technical project information, and produce quantitative summaries to support ESG impact calculations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Comfortable using Excel for data analysis, tables, and carbon footprint calculations; capable of preparing clear documentation and summaries.
- Strong Communication
Skills:
Able to translate technical findings into clear, concise sustainability or compliance narratives for internal stakeholders. - Interest in ESG & Corporate Sustainability: Demonstrated motivation to learn about sustainability frameworks, ESG metrics, and corporate reporting practices.
- Collaborative Attitude: Willingness to work with multiple functions while contributing to sustainability‑focused process improvements.
