- Using design modeling software, including REVIT® and AutoCAD, to produce constructible 2D and 3D models of electrical system components such as switch gear, cable tray, conduit, panel boards, control panels, and lighting, with an understanding of how these systems are installed in the field.
- Preparing construction documents, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment layouts according to specs, sketches, and rough drafts.
- Coordinating routinely with other design professionals and the build team to eliminate construction errors due to design flaws or issues, thereby reducing time/costs related to potential errors and clash detention.
- Developing detailed dimensioned installation drawings to improve the efficiency of field electricians.
- Performing surveying when required to document existing conditions.
- Creating prefab drawings, details, and BOMs for fabrication.
- Performing fundamental engineering functions such as lighting & power design and layouts, including circuiting and switching schemes.
- Performing single-line designs, panel schedules, and load calculations.
- Organizing details of construction drawings and responding to construction administration items as they arise.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in a consulting or construction environment.
- Experience and proficiency using Revit, Navisworks, AEC, ACC, Autodesk, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office software.
- Knowledgeable of the National Electrical Code and local electrical building codes.
- Experience using Evolve software is a plus.
- Skills to read, interpret, and understand electrical contracts, drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and through writing in a professional, courteous, and knowledgeable manner.
- Experience and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment, assess multiple demands, and manage priorities with a high degree of detail and organizational skills.
- Occasional travel required.
