Role DescriptionECA is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, full-time Environmental Scientist with at least 3 years of experience in Due Diligence. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) & Phase II ESAs (soil, groundwater, soil vapor). Additional experience with AST/UST compliance, SPCCs, SWPPPs, ACM, & LBP is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in scientific research, data analysis, and technical writing and must have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Geology, or a related discipline is preferred.
Duties- Conduct field data collection, including soil, water, and air sampling, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols
- Utilize GIS tools such as ArcGIS and AutoCAD for spatial analysis, mapping, and site planning
- Analyze environmental data using advanced data analysis skills to identify potential risks or issues
- Perform research on environmental conditions, historical land use, and regulatory requirements relevant to project sites
- Support site investigations by operating GPS devices and other technical equipment for precise location tracking
- Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation through clear technical writing for internal use and client communication
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project planning, environmental assessments, and remediation strategies
- Maintain laboratory equipment and assist with laboratory testing when necessary
- Apply mechanical knowledge where applicable during site assessments or equipment troubleshooting
- Stay current with industry best practices in environmental science, GIS applications, and regulatory standards
- Proven experience in scientific research and environmental data collection techniques
- Proficiency with ArcGIS, GIS software, AutoCAD, and GPS technology for spatial analysis and mapping
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets effectively
- Laboratory experience related to environmental testing or sample analysis preferred
- Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports, proposals, and documentation
- Mechanical knowledge useful for understanding equipment operation during site investigations
- Familiarity with research methodologies relevant to environmental due diligence
- This role will require occasional travel and overnight stays. It is expected that your travel arrangements can be made with minimal oversight from senior staff.
